Renting a yacht in Holbox is quite a good idea, as you can visit Isla Pasion and Punta Mosquito, which are places to must visit if you are in the island. Isla Pasion is well-known due to its fauna. You can find different type of birds like frigatebrids, many types of seagulls, horseshoe crabs, iguanas, pelicans, flamingos, sea turtles, white mongrove, white mangrove and bottonwood. Boca Iglesias boat tour from Holbox

Boca Iglesias is kind of an island, as it's a piece of land surrounding by water. The sea from one side and the lagoon on the other side. Isla Contoy is near across that sea area. It is said that the first church in Latinamerica is the one here in Boca Iglesias. Actually "Boca" means mouth, referring to the entrance of the sea to the lagoon area, where this church is. Iglesia means church. The church used to have a big copper bell but it was sent to Isla Mujeres island long time ago, you can still see this antique bell in the main church of Isla Mujeres downtown.

The tour stars on a yacht in Holbox, on the ferry side of the island. It's like an hour and a half ride to Cabo Catoche, then we change to a smaller boat so we can enter the shallow waters of Boca Iglesias. Bring a lot of mosquito repellent or they will eat you alive. After the church tour on foot we head back to the small boat and then back to the yacht in Cabo Catoche so we return to Holbox. On our way back we can stop in Punta Mosquito to swim.

 Catamaran Rentals in Holbox

We also have Holbox catamaran rentals, but actually we only have one catamaran for charter. It's the only private boat in Holbox that accepts up to 20 people on board. Captain Kevin wants maximum 15 people, he says, but up to 20 is possible with extra cost. In the near future, food and drinks option will be available for purchase, in the meanwhile you may bring whatever you want to eat and drink. We don't charge for corkage. Feel free to make your own party cruising.

The cruising is the same as in the yacht option, to Pasion Island and then to Punta Mosquito. The catamaran starts with motor engine movement and then captain switches to sail.

Price: $20,000 MXN 6 hours for 15 people. Extra person after 15 pays $1000 MXN

And what about the cheapest vessels in Holbox? for up to 10 people, we can take you on a 24 footer pontoon for as low as $610 USD for 5 people, or $750 USD for 10 people.
